The 2nd Edition of Bringing Leadership to Life in Health (Dickson and Tholl) was released by Springer Publications in March and has enjoyed a brisk uptake. This session will share the top ten takeaways from LEADS 2020, beginning with a high level review of the explosion in sector specific research into health leadership. The session will highlight some of the 35 mini case studies featured in the second edition and explain why LEADS has had an “emancipating effect” in terms of levelling the playing field in terms of gender, diversity and inclusiveness. It will share how LEADS has been embraced by Indigenous health leaders and by those that advocate for people-centred health leadership. Finally, the authors will share their reasons for believing that we are on an irreversible track toward the professionalization of leadership in the health sector.
