Over the past few years, the delivery of mental health and addiction services has been fragmented and under resourced and many Canadians in need have not been well served. The emergence of the overdose crisis, followed by a global pandemic, has only served to compound the problems which, at times, seem insurmountable. Despite the many challenges that exist, Lynn Pelletier and her team have managed to transition a major portfolio of services from one government ministry to another, increase treatment options, open a new $130 million-dollar state-of-the art provincial mental health and addictions facility and establish the first mental health and substance use network in BC to advance new knowledge and systems improvement. In this presentation, Lynn will share her experience leading in challenging times and highlight successes, challenges, and the lessons learned.
