As pandemic challenges continue to burden our health systems, the growing human resources (HR) crisis jeopardizes efforts to provide outstanding care and address the service backlog. Vacancy, burnout, absentee, and PTSD rates are dangerously high, which, along with anticipated retirements, provide serious concerns for Canadian health leaders. Specific strategies are required to resume paused services and capitalize on opportunities to improve our health systems.
