Canadian Forces Health Services Group and CCHL Agree to New Three-Year Strategic Alliance

March 2, 2021

Agreement serves as an avenue to promote excellence in the health leadership field

Ottawa – March 2021, Canadian Forces Health Services Group has agreed to a new strategic alliance with the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) to increase the leadership capabilities of health care managers in Canada.

Through this agreement, qualifying members and Health Services Officers will be recognized for advanced leadership standing and the condensed path towards obtaining their Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation, the only certification program for all Canadian health leaders. This program offers individual leaders several benefits including support for lifelong learning in health services leadership; assistance with career advancement; peer recognition and also serves as an essential career designation.

Brenda Lammi, Vice President, Leadership and Professional Development at the CCHL, said: “I am proud of the partnership and collaboration that CCHL and the Canadian Forces have cultivated over the years. This strategic alliance represents a thrilling new chapter that further supports health leaders and an obligation by CCHL to ensure the CHE Program exceeds the very high standards of leadership set out by the Forces.

Rear-Admiral Rebecca Patterson, Commander Canadian Forces Health Services: “The Canadian Forces Health Services Group is grateful for our partnership with the CCHL. This strategic alliance recognizes the long-standing mutual interests of our organizations in developing and inspiring current and future health leaders and we look forward to future opportunities for collaboration.”

This collaboration will also allow for both organizations to better address the constantly evolving needs of health leaders and align themselves with the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework. This framework is a foundation for Canadian health leadership development and defines the knowledge, skills and attitudes a leader must have to positively contribute to the Canadian health care system.
