A bursary is being offered through this competitive process. This bursary was created by the generous support of the private sector healthcare partners who support the TRIANGLE Summits for Healthcare Leaders. At these gatherings, in-lieu of speaker gifts and other conference giveaways, our supporters agreed to pool that money to offer a bursary to an emerging health leader. Special thanks to Minogue Medical, Health Hub, CHS, Accenture, ARAMARK, Hillrom, Analysisworks and CCHL.
This is a chance for an emerging health leader in healthcare management to attend the annual National Health Leadership Conference (NHLC), taking place this year June 15-16, 2020 in Edmonton, Alberta. The winner must prepare a paper (briefing of key learnings from the conference).
How to apply
Using the LEADS framework as a guideline, candidates will prepare a 250-word submission along with a 2-page resume highlighting relevant experience and explaining why they are the best candidate to receive this grant and why attending the conference will enhance their career or leaning path. Candidates should also focus on the contributions they have made and plan to make to improve the delivery of care and service in Canada. Applicants must be a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders. Each application must be supported by one of the applicant’s mentors and shall include the names of two references who can speak to your candidacy. It is recommended that applicants review their nomination and be completed through discussion with their mentor, direct report and/or peer.
The Prize
The winner will receive a free registration to the annual National Health Leadership Conference, provided compliments of the Canadian College of Health Leaders, and a $2,000 grant/prize to contribute to the cost of airfare, hotel accommodation and out of pocket expenses to attend the conference.
Deadline and Eligibility
This contest is open to any emerging health leader or student in Canada, 40 years old or younger, that meets the requirements noted above. Applications must be emailed to Robert Zed, CHE, Chair, Triangle Strategies (robertzed@zed.ca) by noon (Eastern Time) on April 5, 2020.
Selection Process
The submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of past winners of the CCHL Robert Zed Young Health Leaders award sponsored by Aramark. While this contest is not part of the CCHL Robert Zed awards process, the principles of supporting emerging leadership are aligned. An interview may take place as part of the process. The winner will be notified by May 1, 2020.
